Rest between sets
Resting enough helps you hold your reps, load and technique, especially on multi-joint lifts.
What the evidence says
- Heavy compound lifts: usually 2-4 minutes.
- Accessories and isolation work: roughly 60-120 seconds.
- If performance drops too much, resting longer usually beats sacrificing technique.
How to apply it today
Start the next set once your breathing and focus are back. The timer guides you, it doesn't rule you.
